Traditional Express provides Long Distance Furniture Moving services across the United Sates from our branch and storage facilities in Metuchen, NJ and Dallas, TX.
Both our branches operate a fleet of purpose-built furniture moving vehicles and containers. We are committed to customer experience – ensuring the integrity of your items and a timely manner of pick-up/delivery. That being said, long distance moving is still an important process that requires several stages of preparation and execution.

Getting Started

A dedicated coordinator will act as one of your multiple points of contact to manage your move, assist with documentation and ensure we meet or exceed your service expectations.

There are multiple options to commence your moving process – a dedicated representative, a home visit or a friendly helpful face on the screen of your smartphone.

Getting Packed (in case you need it)

  • We provide a well-trained, uniformed pack team with an appointed team leader.
  • All packing is completed on-site and we use export wrapping techniques to provide maximum care.
  • For fragile and high value items e.g., artwork – either high-priority packaging or custom-built crates are provided.
  • We use heavy duty covers for lounge suites and mattresses.
  • All household items are numbered and labelled prior to loading with a detailed inventory (link to Inventory System on main page) completed prior to uplift.

Getting There

Our Company have made the commitment to containerize all long-distance relocations. We exclusively utilize our air-ride suspension rigs (52’ trailers) to deliver the lowest possible carbon footprint and enhanced customer safety.

When moving to a large dense city (NYC, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco etc.), we will usually shuttle (link to shuttle service) out your belongings with a separate smaller truck of ours for a high-quality and thorough door-to-door service.

Direct Loading at Residence

We strive to direct load containers at the customers residence. Direct loading is an option that minimizes the number of times your goods are handled, which in turn reduces the risk of accidental damage. Please discuss (link to jot form) this with your consultant as the service may not be available in some circumstances.

Getting Delivered. Delivery Service:

  • We provide a well-trained, uniformed delivery team with an appointed team leader.
  • Items are unpacked (blanket-wrapped and fragile items with our regular package or every single item with our vip white-glove service) and placed in the appropriate rooms to your satisfaction.
  • All furniture disassembled by Traditional (beds etc.) will be reassembled by the delivery team.
  • Your original packing inventory will be checked off and double-checked.

Tips for Delivery Day:

  • Avoid having your desired delivery scheduled for a window of less than 3-4 days given that property settlements and delivery times can be subject to delays. Ensure Traditional is aware of any access issues at your new home to avoid extra charges.
  • You or your representative should be present on delivery day to ensure the level of assistance provided meets your needs. Be sure to give the POA (power of attorney) to a representative of yours as he/she will be signing the paperwork on-site.
  • Where practical, arrange for your children to be looked after or engaged in an activity during the day.
